We are pleased to welcome clinicians and staff from PMG Physician Associates, P.C.  to Atrius Health. PMG is a large, primary-care driven, multi-specialty practice comprised of 20 physicians, 12 advanced practice clinicians, and 134 other employees based in Plymouth, MA. The organization serves over 34,000 patients across eight clinical locations in the Greater Plymouth area and Cape Cod.

“Atrius Health and PMG share a vision to deliver high-quality coordinated care that emphasizes longstanding and trusting relationships with patients,” said Steven Strongwater, MD, president and CEO of Atrius Health. “We are delighted to have PMG’s exceptional clinicians and staff join our team. Together, we can provide increased access to preventive care, management of chronic disease, and programs that keep care in the homes of those we serve. Many of our current patients living in and around Plymouth stand to benefit from these more convenient locations.”

While PMG clinicians and staff will become employees of Atrius Health, PMG patients will continue to see their providers in their current locations. Plymouth is a booming hub with a population forecasted to exceed 75,000 by 2030, putting Atrius Health and PMG in a unique position to provide the community with easy access to cost-effective primary care and coordinated specialty services. In addition to retaining its locations and hospital affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth, PMG Physician Associates will keep its legacy name at all of its sites while changing its logo and website to reflect the Atrius Health connection.

“We are excited for the opportunity to expand our capabilities in service of our patients and look forward to building upon an already strong foundation of primary and multi-specialty care for residents of the Greater Plymouth area and the residents we serve on the Cape,” said Peter McIver, MD, President of PMG Physician Associates. “As part of Atrius Health, we will have access to population health programs, best-in-class information technology infrastructure, and care coordination services that ease transitions of care for our patients.”

Having signed definitive agreements this week, PMG Physician Associates will join Atrius Health in June 2017 pending regulatory approvals.

Walk-in Urgent Care at Dedham Medical – Norwood Closing; To Take Scheduled Appointments Only

$

0

For the past few years, the Dedham Medical Urgent Care Center affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, located on the first floor of the Dedham Medical offices at 1177 Providence Highway (Rte. 1) in Norwood, has provided walk-in urgent care for patients of Atrius Health and BIDMC practices, as well as the public.

Beginning July 1, 2017, this jointly-operated center will be discontinued and will transition to an Atrius Health-operated program for Atrius Health patients only as part of the practice’s integrated urgent care service model.

Our new program at this location will be a weekday program (Monday through Friday, 8am-8pm) for adult Atrius Health patients (ages 18 and older), and all visits will be scheduled by appointment only.   Walk-in urgent care will no longer be offered at this Norwood location.

Your continued care is very important to us, and below is important information for our patients and the community.

IF you are an Atrius Health patient (Dedham Medical Associates, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Granite Medical Group, and PMG Physician Associates):

Please continue to call your Atrius Health primary care clinician’s office when you feel same day care may be necessary. If an appointment is required, your care team will make every effort to see you at your usual practice location or at another convenient Atrius Health office open that day for same day urgent care.

IF you are a BIDMC Primary Care Patient:

If you are currently a patient at a Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare primary care practice or at HealthCare Associates at BIDMC, your PCP can help direct your care should you need medical attention. BIDMC offers advanced urgent care services at its Chestnut Hill location.

IF you are a past Walk-in Patient without an Atrius Health PCP:

At Atrius Health, we currently have more than 300 primary care clinicians welcoming new adult and pediatric patients at our practice locations, including our Dedham Medical offices in Norwood and Dedham. If you are interested in joining the practice or you have neighbors, family and friends who have utilized the walk-in center but are not currently patients of Atrius Health, we would be delighted to provide their ongoing primary care.  Please visit www.atriushealth.org for more information or call our Patient Registration office at 1-800-249-1767.

We thank you for entrusting us with your walk-in urgent care needs for the past several years.

Patient Traffic Advisory for Harvard Vanguard Kenmore and Copley Practice Locations

$
0
0

For travel planning purposes, we want to alert our patients of Stage 2 of a major Mass Department of Transportation project beginning tonight, July 26th, and running through, Monday, August 14th to replace the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge in Boston. This project is expected to disrupt travel in and out of the city and will specifically impact travel time for patients with appointments at our Harvard Vanguard Kenmore and Copley practice locations. Patients with appointments at Harvard Vanguard Kenmore should also be aware that the Red Sox have home games from Friday, July 28th through Sunday, August 6th which will further impact traffic when traveling to this practice. Please visit RedSox.com for more information about game times.

We are highly recommending that patients plan their travel modes and routes accordingly over the next several weeks and allow for extra travel time when commuting near impacted areas. Travelers may get up-to-date travel information by following @MBTA, @MBTA_CR, or @MassDOT on Twitter, checking websites such as Google maps or MapQuest, or through real-time traffic apps such as Waze.

The project will take place on Commonwealth Avenue between Brighton Avenue and Kenmore Square in Boston and will also include the closure to cars of the BU Bridge that connects Commonwealth Avenue to Cambridge. DOT officials are warning that this the project will significantly slow vehicle travel times on portions of the I-90 Mass Turnpike and Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University, as well as B Line MBTA Green Line customers, and some customers traveling by Amtrak and the MBTA Commuter Rail. Some officials have warned that traffic delays could reach up to 40 minutes in either direction on the Massachusetts Turnpike during the 3-week period due to lane restrictions.

Please visit the MassDOT Traffic Management website for a complete listing of closures related to the project and the DOT guide for getting around the city during the bridge shutdown. Of specific note:

  • Beginning this Friday night, the Mass Turnpike between the Allston Interchange and the Beacon Street Overpass will be reduced to a maximum of two lanes in each direction during peak travel hours. During weekends and overnight, the Pike will be further restricted and will alternate between having only a single lane open on either side. The Mass. Pike will return to three lanes on August 8th, and four lanes on August 28th.
  • The Green Line B branch will be shut down for a few blocks on either side of the construction zone and shuttle buses will be used beginning tonight to relay passengers through the work zone. The Green Line, BU Bridge, and Commonwealth Avenue are expected to return to normal on August 14th after the road is resurfaced and new sidewalks and track are added.
